Wind cave!

I am so sorry that I have not been blogging for a while. About a week ago Lottie,Mama, and I went to a national park called Wind Cave. It was really amazing. We went on a tour of the cave and the original entrance of the cave was a small circle in a rock. The story is said that two brothers were horse riding down the path and one of them heard distinctive noises. He got off the horse and put his head near the hole. His hat blew off. They went off and then came back with lots of people. Again he stuck his head near the hole and this time his hat blew down the hole lost and gone forever. They thought they had found... GOLD!

It turned out that it was a cave. And there was NO gold to be found in it. In the 1900s a 16 year old boy called Alvin McDonald came and lived there. In his back yard there was the entrance to the cave. Of course when you are sixteen and have nothing to do where would you go? INTO THE CAVE! He explored the cave lots and losts. He wanted to tell the whole world about his favourite thing-the cave. He asked his father if he could go to the world fair in Chicago. His father agreed and they went together. At the fair he caught Typhus. He came home still extremely sick and lay in bed wishing and wishing that he could go down to the cave. He did and did that for four days going in and out in and out. That made him catch pneumonia. A few days later he died at the age of 20.

I am so glad that we have the light bulb and you will find out in this paragraph. Down in the cave our tour guide showed us what it was like on a tour with Alvin McDonald. There was a tin can on its side with a candle inside. Then she showed us what it would be like without ANY light. I was 300 feet below the surface and in complete pitch black. I was TERRIFIED! It was basicly the reason that I wanted to get out of there! It was still really really fun! I liked the national park alot but was glad to see the sky again. It was easy to get out because of the elevator!

The Museum of flight

A few weeks ago we went to a museum called The Museum of Flight. Now if you love aeroplanes and you are in Seattle this is the museum for you! It has a ton of stuff about them and you can got in the concord and the presidents aeroplanes. Now I hate flying but flying in the presidents aeroplane with a real bed would be fine! It was really cool and I would reccomend it. First we went to a bit about aeroplanes and space. I do not want to go to space because of the terrible beds and you do not want a tired me or I will do NOTHING. Then we went and learnt about how they used aeroplanes in the wars. It was really interesting and I learned about the signs that are on the edge of the aeroplane. It was interesting and I liked doing it. I love learning. Then we went to the café and had muffins. Then we left. It was a great day and if you are in Seattle I recommend that you go because it is so so cool.

The Three Grizzlys

Today we drove from Gardiner to a small town called Greybull. To get there we drove through Yellowstone National Park for the last time. On the way we saw a huge group of people looking at this animal.  I saw a face that looked like a bear face... and I was right!!! It was a mama grizzly bear and her two cubs. They started to come up the hill and came closer and closer. As the mum got closer she stood on her hind legs. I managed to get a picture which Mama said was great. Then these cars started to drive up close as the Mum crossed the road. People were shouting at them. The cubs were on the other side of the road from the mum. That was when I felt scared. And it was for the cubs and mum. Then the cubs crossed the road and they all started to go up the hill. It was on snow and it was a ton of great pictures. I got some good ones. here are some of the pictures I took (I will not put them all because there are TONS!!!!)

Yellowstone National Park day 1

Today we went to Yellowstone National Park and did three walks. We drove into the park in the morning and crossed the border into Wyoming. We saw lots and lots and lots of Bison. The park is really really amazing and at one point we were driving and all of a sudden Mama shouted "BEAR!" I do wish I had seen it! Mama said she thought it was a bison but it was actually was a GRIZZLY!! Mama said it was big and had a hump on its back. We drove and stopped and drove and stopped over and over and over again. We did a walk that reminded me of going to Lassen. It was FULL of hot springs and thermal areas. Then we kept driving.

Then we drove on and stopped for a ok lunch (I do not really like sandwiches with wet sweaty cheese!) After that we drove on until we got to a place with a sing heading to a walk called Artists Paintpots. That Title tells you what it is because they are like paint pots! It was a third of a mile to a small circle of lots of mini gesyers and mud pots. The mud pots go glug glug glug POP! There was a small loop looking over the thing that we did.It reminded me of a walk we did in Lassen called Bumpass Hell. That was the thing in the first paragraph that I said. It was an amazing walk.

Then we drove on to the Old Faithful Geyser. We did a walk up to an observation point. It was a nice place and it took 15 minutes. We then still had half an hour left so we decided to walk back down to be close to it instead of waiting for half and hour up there. We got there about the time that it erupted. If you want to see it watch the video above. Sorry about the voices and baby crying!!

Driving,Driving,Driving

Today we drove from Seattle to a place called Coeur D'Alene. It took 6 hours and I hated it! My back got really stiff. Well the good bit was at the swimming pool where I swam my first three strokes! It was hard and my feet got scared and I put them down but I did do a teeny bit. Then we got out and dried ourself off. Me and Lottie went on our computers. Then we went out for dinner to a pizza place called Fire. They had REALLY good pizza!!Lottie and I had a Margarita pizza. Mama and Daddy had a different one that was called billy something! After that we went home and I did some more blogging and then we went to bed at nine which is later than usual. That was a ok day!

Our drive from Coeur d'Alene to Gardiner,Montana

Yesterday we drove from Coeur d'Alene to Gardiner,Montana. It was a seven hour drive and I got very bored on it! I did not like sitting in the car with my feet squished. Luckily the view was nice and there was music playing. When we got to the house we went and explored it. There was three floors. The bottom had a bathroom and a bedroom. The middle floor had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and sitting room. The top floor just had a bedroom and bathroom. Lottie got to have the bedroom on the bottom floor. I got the bedroom on the middle floor and Mama and Daddy got the bedroom on the top floor. The top floor was not really a floor just a room with stairs going up to it. At the front of the room there is alot of big windows and when you walk down the stairs you can see lots of beautiful mountains. This is going to be a great week in Yellowstone!
